George Robert Duncan

George Robert Duncan, 74 years old, passed away September 12, 2026. He was born August 18, 1952, in Wichita Kansas and was the second of seven siblings. He was preceded death by his father James Duncan Sr, his mother, Martha Ann Krum and his brother, James Duncan Jr (JD).

He is survived by his siblings Kevin Duncan (Robin), Mary (Dwight Evinger), John Krum (Ronda), Kathy Watson, Rick Krum (Kayleen) and many nieces and nephews.

After high school George enlisted in the Army and served at Fort Lewis. George worked in construction 45 years before retiring. Then when he got bored or was available, he would use his construction experience to help build someone’s project.

There was one particular time where he worked on a cruise ship repairing and remodeling as it sailed to a destination in Hawaii. He had several very close friends that all traveled and explored life together.

George enjoyed life with adventure in his heart. He camped and hiked to new places throughout Washington and other key places in other states, and returned to all those places many times. He bought five acres up around Snoqualmie Pass so that provided the opportunity to buy a snow mobile and romp around. He loved snow skiing and snow shoe hiking. It was a great place for him to take friends and family on outdoor adventures.

Some of his hobbies early on were flying remote control airplanes, and that progressed to RC helicopters and drones. Of course that led to him studying and training for a pilot’s license and soared the skies many times and took friends and family up to show off Washington State, always a great experience. He loved wind sailing on the beaches on a tethered cart across the sand. He also loved to fly kites.

George loved boating and fishing and acquired a cabin cruiser to restore with much effort, and finally made it to the lake and docked at a marina to explore the lakes.

The group of his closest friends played softball every Tuesday night at the same ball diamond for many years. If anyone was playing there when the group showed up, they knew to respectfully leave. He considered these friends part of his family and they will all miss him very much.

When he retired he moved to an RV camping community at Gold Bar where he lived out his remaining life.

A memorial service will be held at Saturday, October 3, at 12:00 p.m. at Gold Bar Nature Trails Baseball Field Facility, 16411 May Creek Rd, Gold Bar, WA, 98251-9560.
